Usizo Volontary Group, led by Mlungisi Madlala

Description of the Project:

The Usizo Volontary Group invites all orphans of our Parish (age 1 – 15 years) to a party on Sunday the 30.th of April 2006, here at the Mission. They will also receive a little gift. Due to unemployment, violence of the 90ies + HIV /Aids, these children are especially vulnerable; they are often traumatized, lack the necessary food and clothing, and especially the warmth of a healthy and happy family.

With this little party we try to give them encouragment, hope and love, and show them, that there are people who care for them. Parishioners and kind benefactors have contributed towards this little project to promote peace; understanding and reconciliation in a community that suffered tremendously under violence and unrest, especially of a political nature.

Peace has returned to Richmond and our aim is that it may last. To overcome poverty will be a great challenge to all of us.
